"We Won't Be Silent!" Event

Updated: Dec 10, 2018

We’ve had enough and we know you have too! Join us as we lock arms and stand up for water and marine life on Saturday, December 15th across the counties that have been ground zero for this environmental disaster.

We will have simultaneous demonstrations scheduled for Charlotte, Collier, Lee, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties. Our purpose will be to bring voice to the millions of marine animals that have been decimated by this toxic tide. We will also represent the good people of our state that have been facing this crisis for months now.

We are tired of the silence of our state government. We are fed up with the silence of the media. We are heartbroken by the lack of awareness by residents, snowbirds, and tourists. We won’t stand idly by and allow this to continue in our state. Join us!

A link to each local event is in the list below. Please RSVP and share this main event to begin spreading the word. Link to the main event: https://www.facebook.com/events/298460644115234/

Please arrive by 11 AM, wear a blue shirt, and bring a sign that raises awareness about Florida's environmental crisis. Signs can include facts regarding nutrient pollution, Mosaic, Lake O, dead marine life, toxic algae, putting planet over profit, toxic water, asking our government to implement solutions, cutting out plastic, protecting the earth, etc.

Hundreds of activists are expected at the demonstrations in the five counties, all of which begin simultaneously at 11 a.m. The locations for the events are as follows:
